- Accommodation in the luxury stateroom of your choice with 2 twin beds or 1 king bed dressed with sustainably sourced cotton.
- All meals and snacks prepared fresh daily by our onboard chefs with local organic produce using a balanced mix of traditional and modern techniques. Menu variations are available upon request.
- All in land gastronomic experiences beautifully set up by our crew in unique natural locations, following the traditional cuisine of the destination.

- Fine wine and spirits, available on demand at a cost.
- Pre and Post experiences/stays are not included, but we can gladly assist with information, selection and reservation at partner properties in Ecuador, including Galapagos and neighboring countries.

TRAVELING TO ECUADOR
Traveling to Ecuador is simple with multiple international flights arriving to either Quito, Guayaquil or Manta. We recommend our guests to arrive 24 – 48 hours prior to expedition departure in order to anticipate to any flight delay or cancellation that may affect your check-in with us.
Our expeditions depart every Sunday at 16h00pm from Manta.
Manta is now connected with 75 destinations worldwide. You can book your international direct flight to Manta from Panama in Copa Airlines.
From Quito or Guayaquil there is a short 50-minute flight to Manta in either Avianca or Lan Ecuador. We will gladly assist you in booking the domestic flight if needed.
The Kontiki shuttle is available to pick you up from your hotel and take you to the port for timely check-in. It is not possible to embark the yachts before check-in time on Sunday at 16h00pm.
Check-out is on Sunday at 09h:00am.
BOOKING POLICY
PAYMENT TERMS
Individual Bookings
We require a deposit of USD 1,000.00 per person for double occupancy and USD 2,000.00 for single occupancy at the time of booking. The balance must be paid in full 60 days prior to departure.
Group Bookings (3+ Cabins)
We require a deposit of USD 1,000.00 per person for double occupancy and USD 2,000.00 for single occupancy at the time of booking. The balance must be paid in full 120 days prior to departure.
Charter booking
We require a first deposit of USD 15,000.00 at the time of booking. A second deposit of USD 20,000.00 270 days prior to departure, and final payment is due in full 120 days prior to departure.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Individual Bookings
Cancellations received up to 90 days prior to departure will be refunded in full except for 50% of the initial deposit. 89 – 60 days prior to departure, 100% of the deposit will be forfeited. Less than 60 days prior to departure, 100% of the booking will be forfeited.
Group Bookings (3+ cabins)
Cancellations received up to 120 days prior to departure will be refunded in full except for 50% of the initial deposit. 119 – 90 days prior to departure, 100% of the deposit will be forfeited. Less than 90 days prior to departure, 100% of the booking will be forfeited.
Private Charters
Cancellations received up to 270 days prior to departure will be refunded in full except for 50% of the initial deposit. 269 – 180 days prior to departure, 100% of the first deposit will be forfeited. 179 – 120 days, 100% of the first and second deposits will be forfeited. Less than 120 days, 100% of the booking will be forfeited.

We require a deposit of USD 1,200.00 per person for double occupancy and USD 2,200.00 for single occupancy at the time of booking. The balance must be paid in full 120 days prior to departure.
Group Bookings (3+ cabins)
We require a deposit of USD 1,200.00 per person for double occupancy and USD 2,200.00 for single occupancy at the time of booking. The balance must be paid in full 150 days prior to departure.
Charter Bookings
We require a first deposit of USD 30,000.00 at the time of booking. A second deposit of USD 40,000.00 270 days prior to departure, and final payment is due in full 180 days prior to departure.

Cancellations received up to 180 days prior to departure will receive a full refund except for 50% of the deposit. 179 – 150 days prior to departure, 100% of the deposit will be forfeited. Less than 150 days prior to departure, 100% of the booking will be forfeited.
Private Charters
Cancellations received up to 360 days prior to departure will be refunded in full except for 50% of the first deposit. 359 – 270 days prior to departure, 100% of the first deposit will be forfeited. 269 – 180 days, 100% of the first and second deposits will be forfeited. Less than 180 days, 100% of the booking will be forfeited.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be determined based on the cancellation policy described above, minus any bank or credit card fees. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the cancellation date.

Time is valuable and scarce in the current fast-paced global environment. We have specially designed shorter expeditions for travelers with limited time who still want to indulge in a luxury sea expedition aboard our private yachts. Short expeditions are available every week upon request.

USEFUL INFORMATION
GRATUITIES
LAND EXPEDITIONS
The Yachts will sail along the coast and will anchor close to the shore. Expeditions to land sites will start with a zodiac ride that may result in wet or dry landing. Wet landing involves stepping into water (ankle to knee high) and walking to shore; dry landings involve stepping directly into land. Our expert guides will lead all zodiac rides and will assist you during either type of landing.
A detailed brief of the expeditions is provided ahead of time to inform about the location, topography of the land (most of the trails are easy or moderate), weather and appropriate clothing.
Land transfers will be necessary to reach some sites. Company owned vehicles are used for transportation to ensure comfort, safety and timely departures. There are usually two guided visits per day allowing for enough time to discover and connect with local culture and with nature. Water activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, SUPs and swimming are also available in most coastal expeditions.
WATER ACTIVITIES
We are well equipped to help you enjoy multiple opportunities for water activities available during our expedition. Snorkeling equipment (masks, fins and snorkels) and 3 mm wetsuits are available in various sizes free of charge in a first come first served basis. Wetsuits are not often necessary as average water temperature off the coast of Ecuador ranges from 22C (74F) to 28C (80F).
If you are a frequent snorkeler, you can plan ahead and bring your own equipment for a perfect fit and comfort. Six tandem kayaks and four stand up paddleboards are also available for coastal exploration and fun.
ITINERARY CONDITIONS
Kontiki Expeditions reserves the right at its sole option and discretion and that of the Captain of the vessel without liability for damages or refund of any kind to deviate from the vessel’s advertised or ordinary itinerary for any reason including mechanical failure. Kontiki will not be held responsible for any refund whatsoever for changes to the printed or scheduled itinerary.
If you are a frequent snorkeler, you can plan ahead and bring your own equipment for a perfect fit and comfort. Six tandem kayaks and four stand up paddleboards are also available for coastal exploration and fun.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Family Accommodations: We count with 4 interconnected rooms for families with children. Our expeditions are family friendly, but we strongly suggest children to be 6 years or older at the time of the departure.
- On Board Purchases: Any on board purchases from the gift shop, restaurant, or spa can be charged to your tab and paid at the end of the expedition in cash or credit card.
- Special Requests: Special arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, or any other celebration are available upon request. Please inquire with our customer experience team at the time of booking and at least 30 days prior to departure.
- Drinking Water: Drinking water is complimentary on board and available in your stateroom and throughout the yacht. Drinking tap water is not possible.
- Smoking Policy: Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of the yacht. There is an outdoor designated area for smoking.
- Power outlets and electricity: Standard 120V and standard frequency of 60Hz. Power outlets are type A and B, similar to the ones used in the U.S. European plugs will need an adapter.
- Luggage: Although rooms have plenty of space, please be prepared to bring a small to mid size suitcase on board.
- Currency: Ecuador has adopted the US Dollar as official currency.
- Language: Official language is Spanish, but most of the staff, the concierge, guides and the captains speak fluent Spanish and English.
- TimeZone: Ecuador is in the GMT -5 time zone, same as US Eastern Time. However, we have no daylight savings.
- Medical Facilities:All yachts are equipped with first aid kits for basic medical issues. In case of any medical emergencies, the yachts are close to mainland and count with permanent direct communications with all emergency lines.
- Motion Sickness:There might be moderate movement of the yacht during navigation. Most passengers will not feel anything, but we strongly recommend that you bring motion sickness medication if you are prone to seasickness.
- Physical Limitations:Our expeditions require a reasonable level of health and fitness from our passengers. Most excursions take a few hours of moderate unassisted hiking at a relaxed pace in warm weather. Getting on and off the zodiacs also call for a certain balance. If you are unsure about any of the visits, please check with one of the guides before disembarking the yacht. Also, please inform our customer experience team of any physical limitation or health condition that may require special attention at the time of booking.
- Connectivity and Entertainment:Free limited WiFi is available throughout the vessels in multiple devices. A complete entertainment guide is available in each stateroom with smart UHD TVs, music players with Bluetooth technology, and fully automated a/c, shades and lighting.
